ITWG report for IOI 2008
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The ITWG is run by Martin Mares with the help of several volunteers
from the Charles University in Prague.
(1) IOI Practice CD
   At the previous IOI, we have suggested dropping support for the
   old IOI practice CD, but several members of the GA wished to
   keep it available. Therefore we have put together a completely new
   practice CD based on an up-to-date Linux distribution and made
   it available at the IOI website.
(2) IOI infrastructure
   IOI mailing lists and ISC infrastructure, originally maintained
   by Tom Verhoeff in Eindhoven, have been moved to a new server
   at the Charles University in Prague maintained by the ITWG.
   We are also cooperating with Troy Vasiga on moving the IOI website
   and the domain name servers from the somewhat unreliable hosting
   company to a better place.
(3) IOI software library
   The ITWG and the ISC agree that it is better to leave the choice
   of the contest system to the host (with supervision by the ISC),
   but avoid unnecessary duplication of development by offering
   a library of software modules from which the host can choose
   at his wish.
   Several modules are already available under a free software license
   and some of them will be probably used at IOI 2009.
(4) Support for the ISC and HSC
   The ITWG provides support and advice to ISC, HSC and also the HSC of IOI
   2009 in technical matters.
